From 2-6 April, Katrin Kinzelbach participated in the 2024 Congress of the International Studies Association, which took place in San Francisco. This year’s theme was “Putting Relationality at the Centre of International Studies”. More than 2300 scholars attended. The ISA’s Human Rights Section organized more than 40 panels covering a range of different human rights issues related to, among others, autocracies, repression, neoliberalism, supply chain due diligence, climate change, migration, conflict and peace, digitalization, right to development, as well as the theory and future of human rights. Kinzelbach spoke about academic freedom. In the past three years, she also served on the ISA’s Academic Freedom Committee. Her term concluded at this year’s conference.
