Yasemin Bekyol is a doctoral student at the Institute of Political Science in the research area of migration, flight, and integration. In her dissertation she analyses the concept of vulnerability in European Asylum Policy. Previously, she worked as research fellow for the project “Gesundheit! Inclusion in the Nursing and Care Sector” and on a study on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on migration and integration in Germany at FAU CHREN. In addition, she has worked on a commissioned study on the rights fo female asylum seekers in Germany and Belgium for the European Parliament and has worked at the German Red Cross General Secretariat as a researcher for a EU project on the reception and integration of asylum seekers in the Resettlement and Relocation Programme. She studied International Politics (MSc) at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and Linguistics and Political Economics (BA) at Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg and Loughborough University.
